Ok, I yield. Forgive me everyone, I forgot what happens when you start to debate Reggie. I'm going to stop here.

Geez, Reg got you guys to give up on the Switzerland thing and the British phones. I can't believe it.

The Swiss regulate everything that moves and much that doesn't. As for the British phone system, I can only assume Reg hasn't used it. Moreover, the Japanese beat the crap out of us in consumer technology and automotive engineering and sales while being 'coordinated in detail' by MITI. While we didn't have any regulation to speak of in that area. Explain that please?

Fact is he failed your challenge in spades and you let him get away with changing the debate to whether Regspeak is meaning-filled. (Who cares? Less fullfilling/more boring) I guess this works because when he starts to obfuscate in that pollysyllabic way he does the eyes tend to glaze over.

How could you not notice that you had Reg on the slippery slope - that he had given concrete examples on an issue he was debating. After that, he couldn't have won, damnit. He would have had to look up some facts to have a chance instead of making them up as he went along, like he does economics.

Suckers. ;-)
