Wade, when you wrote," I think TAVA will be busy saving the embedded chip world from y2k ", what does this mean except that TAVA is fixing the problem!!! It is the fixing of the problem that is the core business of TAVA. That has been my point in the original and subsequent posts. The CD ROM and pilot studies are not the money generators that everyone had hoped. Even the CEO mentioned that they are looking for and average of $9 in additional core business for every $1 spent in identifying the Y2K problems.

You also wrote, "Replacing black boxes that don't work isn't "what their core business is all about"; there's much more to it than that. Agree?" And no I do not agree. Perhaps we are talking around a semantic, definition of Y2K, but I view the Y2K efforts as the foot in the door to further sales of core business work. I think you see the plant remediation as the actual Y2K work. In my model, there could be a number of issues to generate additional work like new federally mandated EPA standards, new FDA requirements, and drinking water standards etc. that would replace Y2K as the driving force to obtain new core business. Even in these other areas, the black boxes as I have called them need modifications or replacement or to be augmented with additional equipment. But this is the core business of TAVA!

It is this very distinction that gives TAVA its firm base for existence and ultimately its longetivity, versus other Y2K companies which are dependant, to varying degrees, on Y2K for their very existence.
