Hi all: Been lurking on this thread for the last few weeks. My wife works for an opthalmic surgeon and thats how I got involved with snrs. Just watched a program on channel 2 in NY (5pm news) which was a follow up to yesterday's show about laser surgery for nearsightedness. Today they spoke of the new laser procedure for correcting hyperopia, using the laser to reshape the cornea into a convex rather than cutting a flap and flattening the cornea for nearsightedness. They didn't mention any names but did state that the procedure will cost about $6,000 for both eyes and that they would be starting to perform the procedure (at the Laser Eye Center in NY) within the next 2 months. There really wasn't any more to be learned from the program but I thought you'd all be interested in what they said.

Regards,

BOB
