Walt, re:covered and current have lots of time value and are in the money by $3.00. Oh, they were for extra cash.

Reviewing your posts, I see the series is Aug. Unless the calls are related to margined DELL, there is no real impetus to close the position so early. A roll-up strategy may be effective should the options go more deeply in-the-money. Since a roll-up generally creates a debit (ie, requires added funds), I'd determine *now* whether a roll-up makes sense in the future. This decision will help guide whether you should cover sooner rather than later.

As other posters have mentioned, proper study of the fundamentals is crucial. A nice starting point is Lawrence McMillan's Options as a Strategic Investment.
