"The Old Testament abounds in predictions that some day Israel will return to her land."

The Old Testament prophecies all talk about "some day Israel will return to her land." The Assyrian Captivity occurred approx. 750 B.C. and the Babylonian Captivity about 589 B.C. Almost all of the prophecies were recorded before and during these captivities.
To the glory and praise of God, the Israelites were returned to Palestine under Ezra and Nehemiah around 500 B.C. Nehemiah lead the rebuilding of the Temple under Cyrus the Great. This fulfilled part of the propecies about the redemption of Israel and the destruction of their enemies.
The rest of the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled when Messiah Jesus came and died for the sins of the whole world and same His people from their enemies---Satan and his demons. The remanant of Israel was regathered under Ezra and Nehemiah and the again both regathered and redeemed under Jesus Christ--the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.

It is simply your ignorance of Scripture that leads you to make such ridiculous statements about all these fulfilled prophecies being pushed somewhere in the distant future when they are all clearly fulfilled according to the Word of God and historical developments in the past.
