rr and all, " French Ct Rejects Iomega Motion To Halt Mktg Of SyQuest
Pdt"
Dow Jones Newswires -- May 13, 1998

FREMONT, Calif. (Dow Jones)--SyQuest Technology Inc. (SYQT) said a
French court rejected a motion filed in March by Iomega Corp. (IOM) seeking to prevent SyQuest from distributing SyJet 1.5 GB cartridges in France.

In a press release Wednesday, SyQuest said the ruling stems from Iomega's patent infringment lawsuit against SyQuest, filed in France in March.

An Iomega representative wasn't immediately available for comment.

SyQuest said the court's rejection of Iomega's motion to bar SyJet in France clears the way for SyQuest to continue distributing the product there.

SyQuest believes the technology Iomega claims as its own was, in fact, either developed by SyQuest or widely known and understood throughout the industry before Iomega laid claim to it.

Iomega has also sued SyQuest, alleging patent infringement related to SyQuest's SparQ 1.0 GB cartridges.
