Hello Confluence I must confess, I am as confused as everyone else. HB indicated some of the complications SUF was dealing with on the whole Marsfortien issue and in light of what he said, their posture made perfect sense... to me anyway. Its all very complicated and rather than risking a misquote, I hope to get some written facts from SUF in the near future which I'll post upon receipt. They are concerned about the degree of misinformation being posted and have just now realized the extent of the affect the net has on their share price. When the SA and CDN news media started quoting this thread I think they may have decided that some action was warranted. Time will tell. By the by, HB indicated that environmental mining regulations in SA are even stricter than those here in Canada. Every hole has to permitted and they are of course in full compliance. A second point of interest. Apparently water is available to any of the farms in the area who are prepared to drill for it which is what SUF did. They do not have exclusive control of it. Despite the media indicating that DeBeers had found the M-1, this is not the case. DB originally found the Leopard and dug some test pits, but since the deposit did not meet their profile, they dropped the option. The M-1 and Sugarbird, etc. were discovered by SUF. Finally, the figure of $180 million invested in the M-1 is from left field. The figure is less than $20 and I believe this is for the whole development. Anyway, my memory isn't what it used to be and I don't want to risk misquoting when the effects can be so far reaching. If and when I get any data from SUF I'll post it for all. Regards
