If I want a MSFT OS I have a choice of hundreds of hardware
vendors.

I am arguing that the PC OS industry is not competitive, not the PC hardware industry.

Of course, both SUNW and AAPL could compete with PCs if they opened up their systems to third
party hardware vendors, but both have refused to do so because their profits on their bundled
hardware are significant.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. SUNW has opened up their hardware to third-party vendors. Please get your facts straight before you post.
