Yeah, I know just what you mean...but, I suppose we're often our own worst enemies by paying as much attention as we do to daily, if not minute-to-minute developments. From time to time, we should remind ourselves that we are investors in stocks that we have (or should have) researched to death before we took the plunge. Too bad we can't simply fast-forward 9-12 months when, I'm convinced, we, too, will be happy campers.<gg>

As to the Hewlett Packard warning, bad as it sounds, there may still be a partial offset by the ongoing rumour that has Siemens AG buying/merging with Motorola, don't you think? As well, if the Fed doesn't fiddle with short-term rates (and I don't think they will), then the damage may be confined to HP.
