Vinman, I thought you were short AMAT, IBM and HWP. I bet you were sweating all three today as they were going up and probably covered before HWP announced its' earnings shortfall and now you are kicking yourself while boasting otherwise.

Regards,

Don

Hey Vinman...

It might be good to understand one issue regarding the services group: this is appearing more and more to be the initial "engine" for the rest of the company. The company's portfolio is very large, and when the services division gets substantial "wins" in the marketplace, not only is there service business/revenue increases, but it can very much have a "spider-web" effect on the rest of IBM's businesses. In other words, once in place in other companies, a substantial amount of leverage is gained in providing "solutions" with LOTS of IBM hardware and software, etc., in these companies. A real potential (now starting to be seen !) "domino" effect which is starting to multiply many times over. I believe LG is absolutely correct in really supporting the Services end of the business. Remember - the "new" IBM is NOT a bunch of seperate, individual mini-businesses. The strengths are in the combination of all of them !! The "mo" is definitely on the rise !
