Hi S., I just recently bought a replacement "box" for the house after my trusty 386DX failed to power up. The "box" cost $600.00 and carries a Cyrix chip (166, I believe). I didn't buy it for the chip, I bought it because it does everything I need and the price was right.

I'm not into brand name loyalty - I've had computers with INTC, AMD, I believe Toshiba (never looked) and now Cyrix. As long as they can produce the work I need, that's all I care about.

It would have been nice if the local shop where I bought the box had a unit with an IDTI chip in it. I did ask. But, alas, the product hadn't made it to their shelves yet.

Just one Scottsman's opinion,
Tom
