Evidently, the market doesnt seem to like the WAI merger. A bigger announcement regarding SLB has been rumored for weeks

Jessi, I think BHI is getting "trashed" because BHI has said the deal won't be accretive until the fiscal year ending 9/00. The deal is expected to be dilutive to fiscal 9/99 EPS by roughly $.14. Also, many people expect HAL to come in and make a higher bid for WAI and some people are probably afraid that BHI will then up their offer and make the deal more dilutive than it already is. Over the longer term this might be a very good strategic move for BHI, but the short-term minded market is probbaly just looking at the immediate dilution impacts and the large amount of cost savings that will have to be implemented to get it accretive by 2000 and is therefore skeptical.

I don't know technical analysis very well or BHI for that matter, so I can't help you with where the support lies. However, it seems that there are some very knowledgeable people on this thread with regard to TA that may be able to help you there.

Good Luck,

Elmer

In addition, I believe BHI indicated the WAI merger would be slightly dilutive to earnings in the first year.
