Hi Michael,

At the personal level, I would define "success" as having the time and the resources to "smell the roses" in the company of your loved ones. And, I would define "luck" as the enjoyment of good health by you and your loved ones. As you can clearly see, luck is far more important than success.

To define "success" for an exploration well is not a simplistic proposition. Short "one liner" definitions such as "It rings the cash register" are not sufficiently encompassing and suggest a lack of experience.

I can look back in my career and think of many abandoned exploration wells that today I regard as "successful" even though they themselves were clearly not "economically successful". Why? Very simple. Without those specific wells (or some specific knowledge gained from those wells) the "commercially successful exploration project of which they were a vital part" could\would not have been completed. [Perhaps my current inability to condense these thoughts into a short one liner only demonstrates my weariness/age!!!]

Re: "..300 psig" --- I haven't got the foggiest idea of what you are talking about!! I need more info if I am to respond.

Later,

P.S. -- You seem eager to get back in the ring. I don't have much time for "threadwork" currently but that should change next week. In the meantime, just focus on getting that cut man for your corner!!! :-) :-)
