Shane, I imagine it's like any leading edge consumer device... the initial prices always migrate downward once the early implementers become advocates. I should note however that despite the fact that I really don't NEED a digital camera, reading the description of the QV-5000SX in comparison to the others shown has piqued my interest. According to the catalog, it's got 1280 x 960 line resolution, auto focus, 2x/4x digital zoom, 8 MB built in memory for storing up to 60 images, 1.8" LCD monitor, 3 flash modes, ability to record frames at 0.1 second intervals, optical viewfinder, and NTSC video output. None of the other cameras with similar capabilities cost less than $900, so when prices start to drop, the Casio should hopefully be able to stay ahead of the pack (including Nikon, Agfa, Olympus, Fuji, Polaroid, and Kodak). $300 does sound like a good price, but I'm toying with the idea even at the current price....
