It's the seven year itch. This is the time the majors have learned to go hunting but the explorer catches it on the chin. The strange thing this time though is that mining has gone bust before the rest of the economy has. Mining is usually lagging by 12 months.

My heart goes out to the honest geologist who cannot get any funding. History will demonstrate that Mr. Walsh and gang killed the golden goose.

Agree. Khanna said the market needed to be awakened from its coma. I called it "doldrums", not enough wind in the sails. A big moneymaker discovery would do a lot to turn attention around & get the money back in. A lot of good companies are suffering because this market is demanding a Super impetus to get it going. In time, there will be some turnaround. Even the the huge price rise of palladium hasn't attracted the interest it should according to analysts. If it does, perhaps you may find interest directed to the platinum/palladium mining companies. I'm hopeful, but not overly optimistic, although also invested in this area. Tom
