One more thing - about the costs of the sequence patents, right after posting I realized that it probably doesn't have to be expensive. I can check sometime, but you probably only have to divide them into groups of 10s when you actually want to prosecute them, so you can wait until you think the sequences are worth it. You can get the thousands on file but you may not have to divide & prosecute them until much later.
