Tom,

while I do enjoy the many posts discussing things and developments, thinking about possible scenarios etc., it's uncensored first hand reports and "anecdotal evidence" like you telling us about Jakarta Today that I enjoy the most. I wish we had a larger net of roving reporters out there in some of the other SEA countries.

I think the Dow may be in a bit of trouble at least short term, not only because of Indo & co. but HWP profit warning will spell over to other big cap and tech stocks...

WSJ on Indonesia:

Other foreign banks closed their doors. "We have closed the offices out of precaution," said a spokesman for Dutch bank ABN Amro Holding NV, Tanno Massar. "The banking system over there is hardly functioning anyway so there was, from a business point of view, no reason to continue."
