<<Samsung used a Micrascan for first silicon of their 1Gb DRAM, but I have never heard that they use them in production. So Samsung may have one or two Micrascans, but I think they use someone else's steppers/scanners for production. If Samsung is an SVGL customer I hope SVGI will let the cat out of the bag, because we are about to trade under book value!!!>>

Do we know how far Samsung is along in their ramp up for the 1 Gig such that they have selected a supplier anyway? Maybe that's why there's been no announcement. Of course, maybe Samsung like Intel prefers to muzzle their supplier selections until they are in full production(?).

Hoping for logic in an illogical market....SemiBull

Bob and All--LSI Logic uses Micrascans in production, and they say their business is good. Also attached is a detailed article on UTEK's USAL project. Because neither UTEK or SVGI is likely to be willing to share their technology up front, and lacking such knowledge would be unable to allocate participation percentages, short of one buying the other I do not see how they can get together on EUV to gain an edge against the Dutch and the Japanese competitors.

I believe the production steppers are ASMLF beating out Nikon for high end work. SVGI does not seem to be inline for vol DUV purchases

PS I have no holdings in any stepper company ( although SVGI looks attractive and I tried to short ASMLF at 95 but could not get shares)
