I don't know how drakes does it but you can download all the stock symbols from nasdaqtrader.com. Then do a text search. Filtering for >$5 is a little more work...

Sounds like dumbmoney has a way to do it on the web. I compile mine using some screening software and Excel. Here are the steps I go through:

1) Screen for all Naz and NazSC stocks priced above $5
2) Download symbols and prices into an Excel spreadsheet
3) Use Excel's "text to columns" function to parse out the letters of each stock symbol into 5 separate columns.
4) Sort the entire list based on the letter found in the 5th column.

That will put all the "D"s and "E"s right next to each other on the spreadsheet.
