In general, I agree with you. But just as an investor should be alerted by inconsistencies in a company's reports and behavior, I think it is important to evaluate information provided here before I act upon it.


Generally, reading the past 3 months of messages on a company will give a pretty good idea of who knows what he's talking about and who, in contrast, is full of it.


When a newcomer comes in, it is wise "DD" to click on his name and see what type of posts he has provided on other threads. Often this will point out who has been a useful sharer of information and knowledge even though he hasn't been active on the specific thread.


And when someone posts a lot of information that suggests that he may know more about convertible debentures than I do, but then he posts something that suggests that he has invested in a large number of shares without knowing whether a company is a reporting one or not, I consider that an inconsistency worthy of being cleared up.


Getting along has nothing to do with evaluating the quality of someone's information ... or of attempting (in some *other* cases) to divine his motivation.
