Don't panic. I also bought calls yesterday. Remember that Compaq's inventory problem, the primary cause of the pricing pressure that caused HWPs earnings miss, appears pretty much resolved.

Once that sinks in, the same analysts who are now downgrading HWP after raising Compaq last week should regain their collective senses and recognize that the HWP situation is a somewhat unique one Q anomaly. The basic story has not changed.

I am puzzled, though, how HWP officials didn't realize the situation until this week. Didn't they KNOW they were sharply discounting PCs until weeks after the Q ended? This disturbs me more than anything else.

Three downgrades today from Goldman Sachs, Lehman and JP Morgan.
I guess these guys just "go with the flow" which is just amazing.
How do they manage to keep their jobs?
