would you please give a simple example of how you would enter these trades on your schedule D

don't you have to show the 4 transactions (the 2 buiys and the 2 sells)?

I am really lost on this "wash" thing, and it has been explained to me.

Just a dummy when it comes to filling out the form, so that there is no loss showing, when the 1st (a loss) and 2nd (a gain to offset the loss)
