Barbara,

I think you're doing a wonderful job contributing right now. I was thinking of asking you to help out (since you also have Schilit's book) if you ever saw anything in hindsight that we could have learned something from.

Schilit's text covers a lot of examples on what wrong turns companies can take. I feel that studying from examples in the past is just as beneficial because it will prepare us even better for what's to come in the future.

In starting this thread I have made no assumption that the thread participants and readers are even moderately proficient in accounting. We're here to help them get there, and at the same time have fun doing it by doing some detective work, and hopefully making money (or saving it) from the market from our findings!

PS. An interesting note. From a conversation I had last night with a portfolio manager, he acknowledged that not a lot of people do read the SEC documents for the finer details. That gives us who do a distinct advantage in acting before the Wall Street masses catch on.
