<time to double down under $10 ?>

Slider, I doubt TCMS will go under 10, but if it does you can have my shares.
I think at 10 it's a great buy, but at 9 1/2 it's in trouble.

I noticed someone bought around 270k this morning.
Was that you doubling down?<ggg>

PS Been watching your omni. That thing doesn't waste any time.

Be careful with TCMS as the Nasdaq Market Makers are up to their old tricks. The current bid/ask spread is 7/16s which seems ridiculously high.

SliderOnTheBlack (some pseudonym!): Re: OMNI (and TCMS)

I, too, have been watching Omni -- watching it go up 30% in a week, while I just sat and wuzzled. Darn! Eventually I asked myself: Is this a flash-in-the-pan, a boom before a bust, or is there really something special about this stock?

Well, on checking it out, (I am always looking for rational explanations for irrational phenomena) it turned out that OMNI is very strong in one respect (at least): EPS growth. Unfortunately, the Telescan Pro-Search industry indicator is on the blink, or I would have ranked it vis-a-vis the industry as a whole.

My guess is, however, that it would have ranked very near the top -- way ahead of your favorite TCMS. Of course, both companies went public very recently, and have no track record to speak of. All these earnings projections may be pure fantasy. Nevertheless, some numbers comparing the two (in percentile rankings):

1 year EPS growth: OMNI, 93; TCMS, 61.
Projected EPS growth current fiscal year: OMNI, 93; TCMS, 86.
Projected EPS rank: OMNI, 90; TCMS, 14.
Projected 5-year growth annualized: OMNI, 95; TCMS, N/A.

Maybe this disparity has something to do with the strong performance of OMNI -- and the weak (so far) performance of TCMS. Just maybe.

But, take heart. So far today, TCMS has gone up even more than OMNI! And its p/e (of 15.7 -- or 20, depending on which reporting service you trust) is much more attractive-looking that OMNI's, which now has a p/e ranging from 31 to 46 (again, depending on the reporting service). So maybe you will have another big winner! If so, congrats.

OMNI, cont.

The Telescan industry search is working again, so I was able to run that screen for 1) 1-year EPS growth; 2) EPS average % change (last four quarters); 3) projected EPS current fiscal year; 4) projected EPS 5-year annualized.

As I suspected, OMNI came out in the top spot!

If anyone is interested, the others were, in order: EVI, NE, VTS, VRC, MAVK, GMRK, NOI, UTI, KEG, PESC, MDCO, HC, BJS, RDC, FGII, PKD, ESV, ATW, RON, MIND, TDW, CDG, DO, NR.
