Ann,

>>I know for sure they are written by humans(could easily have been some women included among the writers) because I'm a student of history.<<

Are you sure you are a student of history(I would think that should make you objective) or a student of NOW?

If history is history ,what difference does it make who wrote it. Of course man penned the Word, as God gave it. If the only objective was to keep a thumb on women, they could have done that easily without writing anything.

Ann, if you were a true student of history, then you would know that the word "man" refers to the whole of mankind. Of course the same word has been perverted by some over the ages to uplift the male of the species. The true Biblical meaning of the word man is that of all mankind (male and female), and the true Biblical relationship between male and female is one of mutual respect and adoration. It is fact that the male half of the species has dominated in most cultures, and as a result has abused the female half, but that does not in any way shape or form "prove" that the Bible was written by man of his own volition. If you would open your mind and study without prejudice the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, you would see that He uplifts women to the status they deserve and were created for.

Respectfully yours,

Tom

If you truly are a student of history then you ought be easy to convince concerning the historical record of the Bible and its origin, I will get to that in my next post.

For now if you will consider the following.

I would like for the record to announce that I am in no way trying to convince you of anything, I don't care what you believe, that is your business. My intentions here are simply to present evidence, which you may not have previously considered, and which is needed in order to come to a reasonable conclusion.

I dare say Ann, by your own admission you have not read the Bible in depth. How can you then, in all fairness and justice, even think that you know who did or did not write the Bible?

You can't just go around making up false statements. Where is your evidence that any mortal man could have possibly written the most Holy book in the universe.

Many of us here have claimed that God Almighty wrote that Book, and only God could have, and in defense of that statement I offer you the following credible evidence.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."..... Ps.14

In the New Testament alone, the prophesy fulfilled by my Lord Jesus is staggering, and
that was just in the last 24 hrs. of His life.
1.He would be betrayed by a friend (Ps. 55:12-14; 41:9)
2.He would be sold for 30 pieces of silver (Zec.11:12)
3.The money would be use to buy a potter's field (Zec.11:13)
4.His disciple would forsake Him (Zec 13:7)
5.He would be accused by false witnesses (Ps. 35:11; 109:2)
6.He would be beaten and spat upon (Isa.50:4-6)
7.He would remain silent before His accusers (Isa.53:7)
8.He would be wounded and bruised (Isa.53:5,6,10)
9.He would be nailed to a cross (Ps 109:25)
10.His hands and feet would be pierced (Ps.22:16)
11.He would die between two thieves (Isa.53:12)
12.He would bear shame, reproach, and dishonor (Ps. 69:19)
13.He would pray for His executioners (Isa.53:12;Ps.109:4)
14.People would shake their heads at Him (PS.109:25;22:27)
15.He would be ridiculed (Ps 22:8)
16.His garments parted and lots cast for them (Ps.22:18) imagine this one, the same ones who nailed Him to the cross, Gambled for the clothes He was wearing. Do you think that even these people knew the man they were crucifying was somebody special?
17.He would thirst (Ps 69:3)
18.He would be given gall and vinegar to drink (Ps 69:21)
19.Darkness would cover the land (Amos 8:9)
20.He would be the lamb of God (Isa. 52:7)
21.He would commit His soul to God (Ps. 31:5)
22.He would give a cry of victory and triumph (Ps.22:31)
23.His friends would stand far off (Ps.38:11)
24.His bones would not be broken (Ps. 34:20; Exod.12:46)
25.His side would be pierced (Zech.12:10)
26.His visage would be marred (Isa. 52:14)
27 His heart would be broken (Ps 22:14)
28.He would be buried in a rich man's tomb (Isa. 53:9)
29.He would be cut off, but not for Himself (Dan.9:26)
30.People would be astonished (Ps.22:17 Isa.52:14)

The odds against one man fulfilling all thirty of these prophecies is staggering: 1 chance
in 431,696,000
But my Lord Jesus The Christ fulfilled another prophecy, the most important of them all, and in
doing so truly became the one of of who all the prophecies referred to. God Raised Him from the dead! (Ps. 16:10)

In His lifetime on earth there were a total of 300 of them. The odds against one man doing this in one lifetime is:1 chance in 8x10to the power of 132, let me put it in zeroes
for you
1chance in 8x1,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,

Astonishing but true! You have a computer, compute it!
And those prophecies were just of Jesus the Son of God. there are hundreds more, of
which to date more than 3/4 have been fulfilled.
There is no man in the world, (not even a zillion Jean Dixions) that could ever prophesy
and be a 100% accurate, No Man! Except God Himself!.

Ann, consider if you will, the above prophesies, and with all of the rational intellect and common sense you can muster up, lay it all out on the table and ponder the magnitude of it all. When you are done if you still believe that mere man could have written any of the Bible then you just do not have eyes to see.

Aside from being an impossibility, it is an abomination to give man the credit for such a Godly task.

What will you say to God when you stand before Him? You will you know, let there be no mistake, because He exists whether or not you belive He does.

"Woe unto him that striveth with his maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to Him that fashioned it,What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? Isa.45:9

I understand, to some extent your confusion, for the message of this world is that "there
is no God".
The enemy of God is heard clearly. It is convenient to believe there is no God, for then we would only have ourselves to answer to...How peachy.

Jer 33:3
Have a good evening Ann,
Shalom...><>
