A way to short AMZN now with the idea of holding it until the inevitable occurs and not being caught in a squeeze could be to either (i) short the at the money Year 2000 call leaps or buy Year 2000 put leaps at the money. I love using leaps to do longer term positions without having to put all the money in it takes to buy the stock or, in this case, subject yourself to a short squeeze.
