Remember, the options don't actually expire until the Saturday following the third friday. What if indonesia explodes?...what if Pakistan fires a Nuke at India? All on Friday afternoon. Well then you just bought your stock. Wouldn't you buy something at 1/8 and sell it at 1 1/2? Well then why get greedy about buying it back after you've already been short. Do you know how many expirations have stuck me with stock I didn't want because I was too greedy/cheap to buy something back for 1/16?? Too, many! This I have learned from my mentor who spent 25 years on exchange floors such as the NYSE, AMEX, and CBOE. He was there the day options began trading. He has taught me that and I stick to it. It's a personal discipline, and I don't expect anyone else to follow.

Good luck.
