No sales tax in Texas? Of course, probably
a pride thing too, not going out of state
to save a few bucks. Dell is in Austin right?

If I had anything left in my options account
I'd probably be tempted to go for the June 100 puts,
alas, I am done with options, the May 90's were my last
fling. And I think I am smart enough never to mail
in another check. Lost about 3k in misc puts
and calls these past six months, while gained
about 40k going long. Not bad considering I started
with just 15k last December.
Lesson learned: I suck at options.
Dell and many of the highfliers will one day
correct, but many of these are good companies
and that is probably reason enough not to put
them. Actually, regarding earnings, maybe
Dell is getting parts wicked cheap from
sinking Asia--we certainly know they are not
passing much savings on to consumers, as
they consistently have prices at the high
end for a given set of gear...

Here is a good quote from James Cramer, re
Amazon, one of the four stocks I've contemplated
putting:
"Let me give you a couple of quick tips on shorting.
I never ever short a company that could be on the cover
of Business Week as one of the best-run companies in America,
and Amazon is incredibly well-run."

That sounds like a pretty good rule.

off topic
Some of this easy momentum money WILL
finally start to rotate into the small and microcaps,
as is supposed to happen toward the end of a bull
market. Hope it happens before I lose my nerve,
current portfolio is a bit speculative.

Word is earnings will be a up surprise..I live in Austin and everyone is buying Dell

Even if true can it justify the enormous runup DELL has experienced - 5x - 6x in one year and a huge amount in the last two weeks let alone a further increase in price after earnings?
