Good one! If the houses are willing to say this before announcements that were mentioned might be coming it will be interesting to see what happens when a 2.8 qualification hits the street.

That is a fair analysis. But the open question is who books capacity in the coming quarters and in that regard, the WDC 50% share is somewhat suspect. Quote from Chuck Haggerty remarks on IBM deal on WDC website...

I would just point out that IBM got that share so fast that a lot of folk still haven't noticed.

Seagate would have to change direction and pare back its own head operations before RDRT has a big target there.

That leaves them looking East....Samsung, Maxtor, MKE/QNTM.
