If it is cheaper and the RBOCs give it enough time to gain more widespread acceptance, cable can do well.

A year ago I would have placed all of my bet with ADSL (and I did) today, cable is well ahead and each month that passes the more reasonable it seems to the average consumer.

Granted this could change pretty quickly, but I think cable investment is a pretty good hedge. What about Satellite or GigEther (As bay is trialing). Competing technologies exist, who will win is unknown. The only thing we know for sure is for the internet to work for commerce bandwith is critical.
