According to all of the sites that I visited on the web, it appears that 1/2 pound of ginseng is between $22 and $30 (USD) for raw ginseng (processed, much more). I checked as many US and Canadian sites as I could find that had prices listed. If the anticipated number of tons sold to China is 100 tons, that would mean 200,000 pounds at $44 - $60 per pound. That is retail cost and would probably be much lower wholesale (perhaps $30 per pound). That would be $6 million in sales right there.

These prices are NOT definite (only what I could quickly gather). Check out the prices available on the Internet and decide for yourself if the investment warrants the risk.
