Yeh, I hate it when insiders have information that the rest of us don't. Who would have quessed that the price of PCs had decreased recently. They ought to put info like that in the newspaper, or at least call us on the phone and warn us. I feel violated. Tim

Tom, sorry to be argumentive, but "Unfortunately, yestedays announcement got me before I bought the puts. From various posts you will note that I am generally optimistic about HWP and feel the selloff is a overblown. However, I stand by my statement that the HWP should have known about the PC pricing problems and warned a lot sooner than yesterday." You weren't hedged as of Wednesday, so if HP had announced the earnings shortfall any earlier, it's obvious you still would not have been hedged. The fact is, you took a chance that HP would not preannounce and did not buy puts. I don't see how you can be mad at them for preannouncing only two days prior to earnings, when you evidently weren't hedged prior to to Wednesday anyway. If they had preannounced on Wed evening May 6th for example, would you have been hedged? It doesn't sound like it.
