Herbert:
I think what you said is that everyone on this board is entitled to his own opinion. But it is only an opinion, not a guarantee. You have to form your own. That's what the fee to SI is for (exposure to opinions).

Every Bell curve has to have those who are 2.87 standard deviations away from us middle-of-the-road guys.

SAN DIEGO--(BW HealthWire)--May 14, 1998--The Informed Investors Medical Devices/Diagnostics Forum planned for Saturday, May 16 in San Diego has been rescheduled to Saturday Aug. 1, it was announced today.

"Pre-registration was lighter than anticipated, prompting us to reschedule to a date we know will be strong," said Steve Chanecka, President of Informed Investors, Inc., organizer of the Forum. "The executives and keynote speakers presenting at our Forums are very busy and we are sensitive to their time. We must justify their time commitment.

"Our Forums reflect conditions in the market," Chanecka added. "While biotech stocks are enjoying a little resurgence right now, medical devices/diagnostics stocks remain depressed. This helps explain the light pre-registration.

"Since we already have a biotechnology-based Forum scheduled for Aug. 1 in San Diego, adding a Medical Devices/Diagnostics segment strengthens that Forum. The result will be a bigger, better Forum for both attendees and companies," Chanecka said. "In fact, it will be quite a day with biotechs in the morning and med devices in the afternoon."

Companies already committed to the Aug. 1 Biotech Forum are Ligand Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:LGND), Genentech (NYSE:GNE), LaJolla Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:LJPC), Cytel Corp. (NASDAQ:CYTL) and BioSource International (NASDAQ:BIOI). Several other biotech companies have also indicated keen interest. A minimum of eight biotech companies will present.

The companies scheduled to present at the May 16 Forum were SeraCare, Inc. (AMEX:SRK), TheraTech Inc. (NASDAQ:THRT) and ZEVEX (AMEX:ZVX). They have been invited to present on Aug. 1. Other medical devices/diagnostics firms will be invited as well.

Since 1993, Sacramento-based Informed Investors has been linking investors with management of public companies with particular strength in technology and biotechnology. Informed Investors represents individual investors who collectively hold an estimated $2 billion in investable assets.
