Thank you for your prompt response. I do the same thing, also with SSBarney and use a disc for small cap/BB trades
Warm Regards,

Of interest RE: Margining DGIV

I was able to buy 1500 shares of DGIV on my margin account (last week or so) at Quick & Reilly. I didn't have to pay out ONE RED CENT. (Normally you have to pay 50% by the setttle date-which I didn't have-- but for some reason they LET ME put it all on margin since the money was there). I use Q&R for my long term port and Waterhouse for on-line where the majority of my DGIV holdings are.

Q &R margin standards allow it--if you have a diverse portfolio. I was told by my broker there that DGIV was not listed as marginable by the (FTC?) but they are well over 4$ and since my port was diverse the money was there for me to do so. SO I GLADLY DID!

Some of you may want to get some more info from a different broker in the house because I also had talked to ANOTHER broker there when I was placing my order initially (they are a discount brokerage) and she wouldn;t allow me to buy. I asked for the "other guy" who was more familiar w/my account and he worked it out.

Not recommending that you all go out & margin because it can be risky, but for a few extra shares and IF you have a STABLE account... I figure each additional 500 shares of DGIV translates into a pretty fast $30K (One 2-for-1 split and you then have 1000 shares easily going back up to $30 per share) & THAT's an UNDERESTIMATED Scenario, IMO. Take it from there & the possibilities are ENORMOUS!

FWIW,
Diana
