Good post! Paterson personalizes his biases and opines too often without any solid factual basis. I would like to see more substantial posts from him instead of the "fear, uncertainty and doubt" posts we have been getting.

Please start a list of PC or PC related companies that have not had a problem in the last 6 months. DELL is the only company I can list. Yes, they have a great model, and great controlls etc.. Is that going to be enough to keep the stock aloft ? Jim IBM: Gersner said service related businesses are growing @ 20%, This growth, may by 2000, give IBM double digit revenue growth. I read this as, the only way IBM is going to grow is through service/solution business. When the biggest company in the computer business says the only real growth is in the service/sloution business, I would think that other companies would take notice. Dell has no service/sloution business, Which means they may be missing out on a huge growth segment of the IT market.
