Another thing to bear in mind is that Australia is often used as a testbed for financial and technological innovations. E.G. Features that arrived here on ATM ( teller ) machines did so after testing in Australia for a number of years. One of the reasons is that the Australian culture is effectively a fairly even mix of American and European ( more UK ) cultures. I am fortunate enough to have lived for a fair amount of time on all three continents. Martin Smith
