Dear Ann; Supposition is not useful to me. I to believed in God before I had ever read scripture. I had called upon him many times as a child but was never exposed to religion until I was saved at the age of 25. I simply challenged Yeshua to show himself to me and he did. As far as your question, it is hard to take you seriously, as you have admitted to having little interest in the Bible. If you were willing, it can be demonstrated that it has it's origin from outside of the dimension of time. It fore tells the history of so many nations, people, and events down to the most minute detail. Over 300 prophesies alone were fulfilled by Yeshua in his short life on earth. The day that Israel was returned to the land, and the day Jerusalem was returned to Israel were fore told to the day in the book of Daniel. For thousands of years women and men have tried to find any errors which would disprove it. If they were there it would be common knowledge. Christians are not fools. If you could show me one such mutually exclusive error I would begin to understand your position. Many people have arrived at faith in the scripture by simply trying to refute it. It is impossible to do as it was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. If you would just open your mind it could be proven to you. This would not nullify your faith in God, only strengthen it. I would still believe in God as the evidence for creation is overwhelming, and the validity of Evolution is crumbling, even among Scientists. However, if you could show me anything in scripture that is demonstrably untrue, I would cease to follow it, and would be forced to ask God for another direction. This would be tantamount to proving that the earth is flat. It simply is round no matter what we think and the Bible is the inerrant word of God. You have said here before that the burden of proof is with the Christian, and I agree. Will you take the time to look at that proof rather that reject it based on what you have heard, and not what you have seen with your own eyes? I promise it will be anything but boring.

<<Maybe if they had included a few great women, Donald, their findings would be more believable.>>

There is an interesting story in the Old Testament in the book of Ruth. She was a Gentile woman who demonstrated faith in God, and God highly esteemed her. She became part of Yeshua's genealogy and is a great grandmother of King David. Perhaps if you are willing this would be a good place to start as the need for a kinsman redeemer of humankind is the central theme of the book, and is crucial to the understanding of Yeshua.

What do you say? In Yeshua's love - DLL

PS Thomas are you still willing, is this a good place to start?

Interesting question. If this were so, would it prevent you from believing in God?!!

Jesus claimed to be both the son of God and the son of Man.

Is God any less God if he uses humans with all their apparent faults to accomplish His perfect will?

BTW. The Bible did include great women. What is your definition of greatness?

Does Jesus comport with your definition of a great man?

Sarah was a great woman. Hannah was a great woman. Mary was great. There are many others.

What makes a person great? Who is a great woman in contemporary times? Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Hillary Clinton, Gloria Steinem? What qualities would you choose to emulate better if you could?
