I don't see the reason for divesting a portion of the company
that is profitable (but perhaps by a lower margin). The Cray
side offers scalability to over 1000-2000 Dec ALpha CPUS on
the T3Es.. the best f90 compilers (scientific programmers require),
extensive testing, tape, special devices, high speed/bandwidth
networks, etc.

Much of the Cray technology... compilers, optimization, science
libraries have been ported to the SGIs. Also SGI-Cray is a merge
now.. there are just as many 'Cray' people working on Irix as
are working on the 'crays'.

The point is there is no longer 'cray', except when you talk about
hardware.. That you see in the future Origin line.. SV2s (vector..).
