NSM warning about operating losses for the next couple qtrs and a big drop in revenues. From Briefing.com:

National Semiconductor (NSM) 20 1/2 -5/16: manufacturer of analog intensive, mixed signal and other integrated circuits is warning that it expects to record a loss in Q4 and Q1 due to inventory correction and product transition; sees Q4 revenues declining by as much as 20% below year-ago level of $574.1 mln; according to First Call, NSM was projected to lose $0.19 in Q4, vs year-ago profit of $0.36 a share....

I guess we'll get collateral damage as always. If it breaks $23, I'm backing the truck up and will double my position - this is getting pretty ridiculous now........

Just a near-term doomsayer.
>> We shall see how the doomsayers react in a few years time <<
Wanted to clarify my position at the bottom of Beachbumm's
contest (reply 12064). LSI is a good chunk of my portfolio
(ahead of HWP again) and I fully expect a nice return beginning
later in the year. Wanted to thank those who posted accounts
of the annual meeting. I used to attend when it was held out
here in Milpitas.

Hey, Wizard...Your comments got me to thinking again...yeah, I know the one about smelling the wood burning... But actually, anyone who piled into LSI at the (well-predicted) December low... OK, let's say at about 20, and watches it slide to 23 here... This hypothetical investor has 15% on his money in less than half a year. And LSI is just a quarter away (hopefully) from starting the next major earnings run. So next year is up almost 50%, and the stock follows. For the naysayers in the crowd, how can this scenario be all that bad? Time to play like your big boys and load up on more LSI? I think so. TSO
