Judy, a number of nursing-home stocks recently sold off sharply despite meeting or exceeding earnings. Must be all those gray-haired Cobol programmers being called out of retirement to work on Y2K problems...

Judy,

You're correct, however most major SW houses use India programmers, not just the Y2K. India has become a major supplier of relatively inexpensive programming expertise to US firms. Believe near term effects on the broader SW producers remains to be seen, but one should be aware.
