Stockman, you would think with the K6-2 coming out in a few weeks, this stock would get hyped up by the anti-intel analysts, early chip reviewers, and even Jerry & the Boys...but all quiet on the AMD front...Something is up and its not good...If this dog breaks $25 on heavy volume in the next few days....Curtains!

Stocky,
I think you already know the answer to that question. If enough of these high tech stocks start warning it will rub off on a lot of other stocks. I suspect that Dell will be a positive on the 19th and might cushion the blow of some of these other warnings. The NSM news is pretty much expected isn't it? In lieu of Asia and trying to get Cyrix up to speed.

After market close, NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP said it expects
operating losses in its 4Q and 1Q, due to a slowing in shipments
to personal computer makers as they correct inventories. National
said it now expects sales for the 4Q to decline by as much as 20%
from the year ago, resulting in an operating loss. National said
that, in addition to the PC inventory correction, product
transition issues affecting its local area network business will
continue into the summer. National said its networking product
transition may not be completed until new products are launched in
the fall. According to First Call, analysts had already forecast
losses in the 4Q quarter, with consensus estimates of a loss of
$0.19 a share. (Reuters 04:58 PM ET 05/14/98) For the full text

>>NSM just announced losses for this and next 2 Qs. Any thoughts on what effect this will have on AMD tomorrow.

Since AMD is on the verge of technically breaking down (below its 200 and 50 dma) I suspect the Cyrix/NSM news could tip it over.

Stockman, good call here. Did you tip it over? Do you still think AMD and NSM will retest 52week-low?
