Ed, CWA thread has my explanation whY??? this few days's market behavior of DML, CWA, MGD, LAB, CYP .

Today's DML's NR is neutral to me. The reasons are given on CWA thread. Hurrry go see it. you will like it. IMHO!!!! YAHOOHO!!!!

Preliminary drilling results from South Voisey Bay

Donner Minerals Ltd DMLShares issued 261610581998-05-13 close $2.33Thursday May 14 1998See Northern Abitibi Mining Corp (NAI) News Release Mr. Glen Harper reports Northern Abitibi has been informed of interim diamond drilling results by Donner Minerals, the operator of their jointly owned base metals property in Labrador. Harvey Keats, Donner's president, reports that the company has received preliminary diamond drilling results from the $14.8-million, South Voisey Bay, exploration program. Two drill rigs are currently drilling the first two holes on the Donner Minerals/Northern Abitibi joint venture property. Hole 98-98, designed to test the eastern trend of the UTEM geophysical anomaly, intersected 19.7 metres of mineralization at the base of the olivine gabbro intrusion, including 18.5 metres with 2 to 4 per cent pyrrhotite and minor chalcopyrite and 1.2 metres of semi-massive sulphide containing 30 per cent pyrrhotite and trace chalcopyrite. The hole is presently at a depth of 181 metres, in the footwall gneiss. Hole 98-99, designed to test the extent of mineralization in hole 97-96, based on the UTEM survey, intersected 8.5 metres of mineralization with 2 to 4 per cent pyrrhotite and trace chalcopyrite at the base of the olivine gabbro. The hole is presently at a depth of 191 metres, in the footwall gneiss. Both holes will be continued to approximately 100 metres into the footwall gneiss to test for high grade mineralization similar to that found in hole 97-75. The first two holes are part of a 22,500 metre, phase 1 exploration program, which includes 9,400 metres of diamond drilling on the Donner Minerals/Northern Abitibi joint venture property. Drilling will continue with three drill rigs to follow up on the massive sulphides discovered on the Donner Minerals/Northern Abitibi property during 1997 in holes 97-96, 97-75, and 97-67 and to explore additional targets throughout the project area. Ed. A geologist was telling me today those two NAI/DML discovery holes (from 1997) are about 400 meters apart. so he was saying even in a small area 400 meters x 400 meters you could have a deposit the size of the Diamond Fields "ovide" and it could take you a dozen drill holes to strike it. (The Diamond Field ovide as you know, holds 32 million tons of nickel contained in only a 200 meter diameter - the size of a city block). So there's no doubt the market is nuts, expecting so much from two (2) shallow drill holes. There should be another couple of shallow holes drilled before the market closes Friday.!!

Ed,

A typical approach looking for Ni in Labrador would be:

Drill surface feature as defined by mineralized outcrop and/or magnetic anomaly and HLEM anomaly.

A complete drill miss: Probe hole with multi-component TEM tool. Either no response or an off-hole.

No response: move on

Off-hole: Interpret direction distance and quality of conductor. Spot next drill on this and whatever geological information may be available. Possible surface survey with same loop if hit is shallow.

A drill hit: Probe. An in-hole response plus possible off-hole. Determine spatial characteristics of both in and off-hole.

Many possibilities after this depending on depth of hit:

Borehole mise-a-la-masse for shallow systems

IF the loop was put out in a proper fashion it would be most convenient to do a surface survey in conjunction with the borehole survey to give further spatial control if the mineralization is near surface.

Spot the DDH on the basis of the results of this process. With two or more holes the surveys are interpreted in an more iterative process.

The process of elimination is far to expensive. You can do a shit-pile of geophysics for the cost of one hole. Drilling is a last resort and is no where near as "speculative" as the common press would have you believe.

Surveys can see 200m off-hole as a rule of thumb. But this is more correctly presented as they can "see" the same distance off-hole as the largest dimension of the leading face (closest to hole) of the conductive body.

BTW If you are worth your salt you should be able to call the drill results fairly well before the drill ever turns.
