Excellent summary, Rory. I might add that if all goes as planned the Woodland Hills location can be renovated and running by Fall 1998. I for one am glad about the change in strategy--it shows the management is thinking and evaluatinig their every move, and are not comitted to simply slapping a BJs sign every where they can. The resouces available ($$$) must be deployed strategically for maximum return. I am sure the management has their eyes on the many millions of dollars of cheap financning available if growth is adequate to kick in the warrants in a few years. One thing I would like to see *whcih would probably be a fairly big investment) is a huge, very high profile Las Vegas location, preferably on the strip or even in the Caesar's palace mall area. There are still new huge hotels going up and a high profile spotcould be very lucarative--beer and pizza 24 hours a day!!! Anyway,k for the moment management seems to be wise and conservative and thinking--can't ask for more than that.

CHICAGO PIZZA & BREWERY INC. TELECONFERENCE WILL BE ON REPLAY UNTIL 11:00AM FRIDAY.

Call (800) 642-1687 [ID #134864] to replay the transcript.

Read BUSINESS WIRE release dated may 14, 1998 for 1Q98 numbers.

Rory,
I hope not to duplicate Rory's notes on the CC. Below are some of notes from the teleconference:

Northwest Operations:
Alan Rodomsky arrived in 3/98. 4/98 was his first will month. Hennessy stated "Cashflows increase significantly."

Woodland Hills site:
"Shows significant promise, tremendous opportunity. Should open latter part of this year" They don't have to finance any of the site, but to be prudent, looking to finance a portion. $400k purchase price of existing restaurant. $1.2mn investment to be made.

Oregon Lottery:
Full application made. Police have reviewed. Should be a few weeks to final approval. Max. 5 video pokers per location. Potential for some Pietro locations to have video poker and/or video games.

Wage Expenses:
Increase in wages due to increase in minimum wage and over-staffing in new locations. Prices will increase in almost all locations this week.

Pietro locations:
1 unit in Salem running at $280k per year positive cashflow. Others have "significant" cashflows. Minor modifications will be made to these locations as their do not require much change. Will keep Pietro's name and menu and will sell BJ's beer.

Boulder CO location:
$2.1mn revenues for 1997. Very good for 5,550 sq ft location. Up 20 to 30% in 1Q98 vs last year. "Mid to upper $30,000's" positive cashflow per month.

Regards,

Thanks Rory. I am still in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and it is not easy for me to access CCs, etc. I cannot access 800 numbers at all.

I sure could use a good pizza here! The beer here is great, though.
