'reusable enterprise objects on App Server - "HUGE" market' More customer "success" stories more often? - (humorously maybe once every 3 weeks) - have hundreds of corporations (and by assumption hundreds of success stories I assume - get the feeling that they are not lacking for material here!) Consulting Partners? - 55 consulting partners in US - more in Europe Biggest problems with direct sales model? - can't find enough sales executives to hire - need more consultants, technical support (does not appear to me that their current sales force is twiddling their thumbs - a good sign!) Professional Services rollout timeframe: - rolling out in US H1'98 - rolling out in Europe H2'98 - rolling out in Asia/Pacific in H1'99 What will be shipped under the Inprise name? - VisiBroker - AppServer ---- Competition: Afraid of competition with Partners? - that would be "dumb" The evil Satan MSFT will spoil the party? - MSFT is a partner - will make sure they have "great support for MTS" - but more than just MSFT stuff - such as cross platform - Java/Corba/mainframe/Unix (this is my KEY to investing in BORL) - in enterprise: 'heterogeneous environments' & 'open standards' ------ Inprise Advantages: How productive are tools? - saves weeks in development time acc. to customers - in some cases 10X productive Misc: - 'great' development tools - 'great' middleware - 'great' management coming with AppCenter Big enterpise customers more comfortable with Inprise now? - Yes - noticed a marked change over the last 18 months - consistent strategy seen as a good thing by customers - 5 q's of revenue growth and profitability seen as a good thing by customers - Customer Advisory Board coming soon (some meeting I think) ---- more later... ---- Shane.
