Xybernaut sees significant revenues in Q4

NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - Xybernaut Corp.'s vice chairman Steven Newman expects revenues to climb sharply in the fourth quarter following the wearable computer maker's deal with Sony Corp. (6758.T) affiliate, Sony Digital Products Inc. of Japan.
''We do expect significant revenues to show up in the fourth quarter,'' Newman told Reuters in a telephone interview.

Shares in Xybernaut soared on Thursday, a day after the Fairfax, Va-based company met with a top Sony official to finalize the manufacturing deal.

Late session, Xybernaut was up 3-17/32 at 6-1/2.

Newman said Sony will begin manufacturing Xybernaut's patented Mobile Assistant wearable computer in the summer.

The two-pound heavy computer which is twice the size of a typical mobile telephone, will retail for under $5,000, Newman said.

Xybernaut will share some of the revenues with Britain's University of Southampton, which helped to develop the computer which is more powerful that the average office desk top.
