jbn3,

<<$0.42 >> below 90
0.45 ==> 92 - 94
<<$0.46 >> 94 - 96
<<$0.50 >> 102 - 106
<<$0.54 >> 110 - 118

Just a SWAG.

re: What will DELL's share price do (assuming no split announcement) if earnings come in at...

Great idea 3!
(assuming no split announcement)

I will have to assume that the stock is @ the $91-93 level as that is where it is now. If it is higher or lower these numbers would be very different.
These forcasts also assume that there is no important release concerning the 2nd Q.

$0.42 Open below 84
$0.46 Open @ 95 and churn and head lower.
$0.50 Open @ 95 and head higher
$0.54 Open @ 98 and head higher

If there is any negative guidance for Q2,
Open below 85 and head lower after the buy the dipers exaust themselves.

If the number is below already lowered consensus of .42 with negative guidance,

$0.40 Open below 77 and move violently lower.

Jim

Good morning Bachman,

Here are my guesses: I believe that the whisper (my belief only!) is around $.45, so I believe that Dell needs to come in at $.46 or better to propel the price upward. If the earnings come in at $.49 - $.50 the stock might be trading at around $100. If the earnings come in at $.42 I believe that would be treated as an earnings disappointment and the stock would trade at around $85. $.54 would send this stock into orbit! These are guesses. I have no data to back them up. My ample gut is telling me that .46 to .47 is correct.

The second installment of the seminar went beautifully. The participants received a new (for them) perspective on how to evaluate companies: cash flow projections and cash conversion ability. Of the twenty or so growth stocks we examined, Dell clearly had the edge in cash generating ability.
