>>>Economy or sanctions for that matter is now on the back burner, euphoria and excessive jingoism is in place, 91% Indians think this was a step in right direction so does 92% of Pakistanis demand.<<<

That is what we call "cutting off your nose to spite your face".

>>> If common sense in land of Voltaire and Byron can take backstage just fifty years back, I can see why this commodity is not readily available in Pakistan?<<<

How much common sense or intelligence does it take to say "let's not make the same mistake".

It's like looking at the telcos in the developed nations and seeing their antiquated CO and switching equipment leading to copper wires going into homes and saying 'let's leap frog this mess and go straight into fibre optics and or a wireless infrastructure and start fresh from scratch'.

How much intelligence does that take? Only here you are talking about more efficient communications and in the case of a nuclear arms race you are talking, in the best case, of keeping untold number of children and their children impoverished for decades and perhaps centuries to come. You don't even want to think about the worst case.

How much intelligence does it take to say "let's not play a game where there are no winners and everybody loses" ?
