A breakup would make for interesting accounting. In particular when all the granted options are included. It would also reveal the true organizational structure of MS which I suspect is highly Bill centric and not at all rational.

I reiterate, from my point of view it looks like an opportunity for them, and Bill, to solve numerous problems. E.G. that huge overhang of employee options. E.G. Bill getting his 60 billion eggs out of that single basket. E.G. getting away from all the government attention. E.G. Bill getting into some businesses that aren't quite so mature, or going onto something else entirely.
