omegaman:

Yup, I've come to the same analysis on why corporations are seamlessly (gggggg) going to NT for the enterprise without carefully thinking about Novell's Netware4.x, NDS, and BorderManager integrated package. Just like Big Blue during the late 70's and early 80's, everyone thought that size and visibility meant value, and it was a no-brainer decision. Well, there's nothing like empirical evidence to wake one out of their "comfort zone" with MSFT. This process of empirical awakening will continue to grow over time from my assessment of what Schmidt is doing to revitalize not only the product end, but also the marketing end of the business. Even the once old bulls of Novell that got soured over time into the debacle of management errors that piled up into late winter of 1997, they will start to see a level of evidence that is convincing enough for them to take another look at NOVL as an investment.

Nonetheless, I remain humble as usual, as this process doesn't unfold over night.

Regards,

QuadK
