Dear Sam;

Why do you make such statements without producing any evidence. This is mean to say the least. If there are over 100 contradictions it would seem to take little effort to share with us your favorite. The original post would have taken longer, unless you have not thought them out yet. You may try to sound intellectual about this but an intelligent man would understand the superiority of proof over supposition. I am sure all who read know the difference as well. Take the time to give us at least your strongest example.

If you do not proselytize, what is your motive?

In Yeshua's love for you - DLL

Sam, I'm responding having just read your reply. I do not know where to start, so I guess I'll respond to each of your statements one at a time. However, let me first state that my intention is to debate issues pertaining to the human condition, and to defend the source of my world view. If my doing so upsets you then you must look inside yourself and ask, "Why am I distressed over something that I do not believe".

"I'm sure I have heard just about every lame argument beyond reason you could come up with"

Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:...

On the contrary Sam, reason is fundamental to the Christian belief system. Won't you reconsider and reason with me the hope I have in God's Word.

"I am definitely God's creation, however, speak for yourself about being an evil sinner. I am not one of those."

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Sam, I never said you were evil. Sin means missing the mark, the mark is God's standard or law. If we do not keep every point of the law then we are sinners. It is impossible to keep every point of the law because of the very nature of our existence. So what are we to do? Now I understand that you probably do not believe the above statements, but consider this from the Word of God.

1Cr 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1Cr 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Cr 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

1Cr 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Cr 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God...

"His simple messages were very wise until changed to fit the theology of heaven and hell."

Sam, the concept of heaven and hell are found throughout the Bible, and is part of both Jewish and Christian beliefs. Jesus Himself teaches us that there is a hell.

The following is from Vine's Expository Dictionary Of New Testament Words:

In Matt. 23 the Lord denounces the scribes and Pharisees, who in proselytizing a person "make him two-fold more a son of hell" than themselves (Matt 23:15), the phrase here being expressive of moral characteristics, and declares the impossibility of their escaping "the judgment of hell," Matt. 23:33. In Jas. 3:6 "hell" is described as the source of the evil done by misuse of the tongue; here the word stands for the powers of darkness, whose characteristics and destiny are those of "hell."

Respectfully yours,

Tom
